Menopausal & Post Menopausal Nutrition

Our society tends to view signs of aging as something to hide instead of something to celebrate so we don’t always recognize the rewards of this stage of life. Even when we’re told that “60 is the new 40”, for example, the underlying assumption is that being 40 is inherently better than being 60.. It’s not. Now is the time to embrace our health and learn everything we can to age gracefully. (The origin of the word “grace” comes from the latin term “gratus”, which means pleasing) By paying attention to what makes you feel best and or pleases you, is the way forward!

Functional Testing

Midlife is an opportunity for women to care for themselves and support their longevity in ways that were neglected as they were busy raising families and or careers. These are teachable moments, of sorts. Rarely do blanket recommendations work. Consider the individual and use testing to determine where you are. Is your microbiome balanced? Do you have any infections? How’s your sleep and your hormones?

What is Holistic Nutrition

Holistic nutrition is about more than food and optimal or restrictive diets. It’s about restoring health on a cellular level with whole foods, herbs, supplements, and wellness strategies that are individual to each person’s biochemistry.
We are what we eat, absorb, assimilate, and eliminate. This dynamic relationship of body systems is unique to each person and it’s important to understand and educate about what’s going on in the body.
Holistic nutrition works with the whole person and attempts to identify the root causes of dysfunction by integrating the physical, environmental, emotional, spiritual, and nutritional components of life.
It provides people with natural tools to build better health by understanding how they got to where they are in their health journey.  It empowers them with the knowledge to achieve their health goals as it emphasizes personal responsibility and a cooperative relationship between client and practitioner.
To me, it’s the perfect marriage of the latest science and ancient wisdom.

What Can I and Holistic Nutrition help you with?

Sleep
I am passionate about nutrition and its holistic impact on our daily lives in small but significant ways, even when I was not a part of the industry. I tried to stay informed and connected to the world of healthcare and optimal nutrition when navigating my own health journey.
As someone who has struggled with sleep, I get the frustration of needing help around this and not knowing what to do first.

Digestion
Research confirms that 70% of your immune system is in the gut. Given my personal health story, my greatest interest and area of expertise is digestion. I understand first-hand that the digestive system is fundamental to nourishing the entire body, and thus, believes that good digestive health is the cornerstone of a healthy life.
My integrative approach to health and wellness is founded on the understanding that there is no “one-size-fits-all”. By honouring the concept of bio-individuality, I’ll  provide you with realistic and personalized management plans to help them reach their health goals.
Making digestive health a priority, getting your microbiome in balance, ridding yourself of acute or long standing infections, etc,  is KEY to good overall health.

Stress
Life can seem repetitive in the daily grind.  It’s easy to fill our mind and body with negative energy and stress.  Even the body, if it is not working harmoniously, puts the body into stress.  I can help you with tools and resources and wellness education to feel happier, healthier, and able to manage life’s pressures

Hormone Health
Hormones are complicated.  Whether it’s acne, decreased libido, menopause, post-menopausal symptoms, I can help guide you to find optimal wellness by helping balance hormones. No subject of health is more interconnected holistically than Hormone Health!
